First Aid Kit: Apple Cider Vinegar

In my opinion, no home should be without raw apple cider vinegar. It's an amazing liquid that can be used for a plethora of health issues. The main reasons why I include this in my first aid kit are:

For upset stomach.
For oncoming sickness.
For heartburn.
For vaginal itching.

But raw apple cider vinegar has also been known to help with gout, allergies, sore throats, arthritis, depression headaches and more.

Apple cider vinegar can easily calm an upset stomach - especially if it's from having eaten a bad mixture of foods.

(My oldest daughter gets an upset stomach after eating pasteurized milk products and drinking apple cider vinegar helps calm and completely alleviate her tummy troubles.)

Apple cider vinegar is great for any oncoming sickness - it helps give nutrients to the body, helps in the detoxification of the body and perhaps most importantly, re-balances the pH balance within our system, helping to prevent us from getting sick or being sick for long periods of time.

(We've used apple cider vinegar quite often for either a daily maintenance dose (good for when there's sicknesses going around) or to help our bodies fight off an oncoming sickness.)

Apple cider vinegar is one of the best remedies for heartburn.

(My family and I don't have heartburn problems but so many people do, including my father, and apple cider vinegar, according to many people, is wonderful for heartburn relief.)

For all the the above simply mix two Tbsp.'s of apple cider vinegar into one cup of water and sip until gone. For children, give them 2 tsp.'s apple cider vinegar in water or juice. This can be done up to 3 times a day.

For vaginal itching use apple cider vinegar in a sitz bath: Partially fill the bath with lukewarm water and mix in one cup of apple cider vinegar. Sit in this water and gently wash the vaginal area with it. There may be a burning sensation - that's okay, the pH balance is being restored and healing is taking place.

(Been there. Done that. Worked great to completely eliminate vaginal itching.)

Keeping a small container of this liquid in a first aid kit is easy. I like to place my small bottle/container of it in a small baggy just in case of any leaks.
