Extra: Regulars

These are some food items I make sure we keep around almost all the time:

Raw Butter
Raw Milk
Sea Salt
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Coconut Oil
Grapeseed Oil
Cage free/Hormone free eggs
Raw Honey
Sucanat
Cinnamon
and
Fruits
Vegetables
Nuts and
Seeds
and
Hard White Wheat
Quinoa
Brown Rice
Oatmeal
and
Goji Berries
Cocoa
Aloe Vera Juice

Here's why:

Raw Butter - We are fortunate enough to be able to get raw butter from one of John's uncles who has a cow and who has an overabundance of cream (and therefore butter). I choose raw butter because pasteurization destroys nutrients. This is a great that contains a great list of benefits. Now, all butter contains some of these benefits but it isn't the same - nor can it be the same - once the cream that is being used for the making of butter has been pasteurized. (Organic butter is the next best thing.)

Raw Milk - Once again it's the pasteurization issue. Once milk is heated to pasteurize it - the proteins are destroyed. Then it is homogenized which breaks the long (naturally occurring) fat into short broken pieces of fat. These altered fat particles are hard for our body to recognize and know what to do with.

Sea salt/Celtic Salt - They contain the naturally occurring mineral (6o to 80 of them) which our bodies need. Regular table salt (even the kind that inorganic iodine added to it) doesn't do this. These minerals are essential to our well being.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil - It's an oil that has been used for thousands of years. The wisdom emanating from this fact speaks clearly to me. I use extra virgin because it's the least processed.

Coconut Oil - Half of this oil is made of lauric acid - the same kind of fatty acid mother's milk is made up of. It's anti-microbrial, anti-viral and anti-bacterial. Our bodies absorb it easily.

Grapeseed Oil - Rich in nutrients, anti-oxidants and fatty acids like linoleic acid.

Cage and Hormone free eggs - Eggs are a source of high quality protein. Protein is essential for building and repairing body tissue. There are 8 essential amino acids our bodies cannot make - eggs are a great source for these.

Raw Honey - Used for centuries for it's sweetness and healing properties. Contains a plethora of vitamins, enzymes and other health promoting substances.

Sucanat - It contains minerals and vitamins processed / white sugar does not contain.

Cinnamon - Great flavoring for the foods we make.

Hard White wheat - Once soaked, the vitamins increase in tremendous ways. We grind up some wheat almost every day.

Quinoa - One of the best grains on the planet. High in protein, calcium, and iron. It's considered a complete protein - containing all of the 8 essential amino acids. Half a cup will provide a child's protein needs for the day. Also contain B and A vitamins and more...

Brown Rice - Only the outer most layer, the hull, is removed to "make" brown rice - leaving in tact its nutritional value...leaving in its rightful place the vitamin B3, B1, B6, manganese, phosphorus, iron, and fiber.

Goji Berries - These berries are considered a "superfood" containing high levels of anti-oxidants, minerals and vitamins.

Aloe Vera Juice - Another "superfood".

Cocoa - Another "superfood" we like to keep around.
