Thought: Five Steps for True Healing

I've had a handful of people asking me for advice concerning what they should do for their health problems. These health concerns have ranged from Candida to ulcers, from endometriosis to cancer and from eczema to Alzheimer's.

I've found that even those with an open mind towards holistic healing still tend to want there to be one magic (and simple) solution that will heal them entirely of their symptoms. True healing cannot take place in such a way. If a person has any of the above mentioned health problems there is much healing to be done. And...

It will take time.
It will require a plan.
It will take dedication.
It will require making sacrifices.
It will require a change in one's belief system.

It will take time.
To create a strong foundation, to strengthen weak constitutions and to make permanent improvements in our health we need to be able to take the time to carry out important steps that will put us on the road to true healing.

It will require a plan.
It's easy to want to take that magic pill that will quickly wash away our health problems but the body is an intricate "machine" that requires many things to be in place in order for optimum healing to take place. This will usually require a thought out plan.

It will take dedication.
Our bodies take time to heal. There is no shortcut. Our bodies make new skin every six weeks, a new liver every eight weeks and a new nervous system every eight months. Are we willing to follow through with a plan even if we're not sure whether or not it's helping yet?

It will require making sacrifices.
It's usually the most desperate people that are willing to make any sacrifices necessary in order to be whole again. Do we really want to heal? If so, sacrifices will need to be made. Are we willing to sacrifice certain foods, our time, our belief system, our money to become whole again?

It will require a change in one's belief system.
Our minds are so powerful. (Think of the placebo effect.) If we don't believe in our bodies capability to heal, if we don't believe in the remedies which we are using - it's true healing potential cannot shine through. We need to have an open mind, fill our souls with hope and go forward with faith.
