Recipe: Grapefruit and Lemon Slushie

We spent our morning picking weeds, it grew hotter faster than we hoped but we pushed along anyway. By the time we were finished - all of us were in need of a delightful slushie.

This recipe merely contains lemon, grapefruit, a bit of water and ice.

It's alkalizing.
It's refreshing.
It's nutritious.
It has a sour kick
and is so good!

Here's the recipe:

Grapefruit & Lemon Slushie

Step One:
Juice from 1 1/2 lemons
1/3 washed (organic) lemon rind
Juice from 1 large grapefruit
1/2 cups water (water may not be necessary though)

Step Two:
4-5 cups crushed ice

(High powered blender works best for great slushies.)

1. Pour the ingredients from "Step One" into the blender and blend until smooth.

2. Add the crushed ice, all at once, and blend up until thick slushie consistency forms.

Some may prefer to add sugar to this recipe - if I were to add sugar I'd pour in a couple of Tbsps of sucanat/rapadura in with the "Step One" ingredients.

Also, so many variations can be made here: Plain lemon slushies or strawberry slushies or kiwi slushies ... I'll be posting more of our slushie creations soon!
