Recipe: Berry Breakfast Delight

Breakfast can be so wonderful! So pleasant to down and face first thing in the morning (after drinking a glass or two of water first, of course).

This recipe is one of my favorites and I'll admit - I eat this for meals other than just breakfast. I made this for my husband this morning who said, "I didn't want it to end!"

Here's the recipe:

Berry Breakfast Delight

What you'll need is the following:

Avocados, sliced (optional)
Berries of choice
(We used blueberries and sliced strawberries.)

A mixture of:

sliced almonds
chia seeds
pumpkin seeds
sunflower seeds
dried coconut flakes
hemp seeds
chopped pecans

(Soaked nuts are always best for digestion and nutrient absorption. I soak my in some salt water overnight then dehydrate them until dry. Then I mix all of the above ingredients together so that it can be used whenever needed.)

Coconut/nut milk of your own choosing

1. Place berries in bowl.

2. Add nut mixture on top.

3. Pour milk over it and eat!

I can't help but picture a bowl of puffed cereal next to a bowl of this delightful concoction. There's no comparison! It's heartier, fills you up longer, 100% more nutritious, is a quick fix and definitely more delicious!

  1. This sounds pretty darn good. I really appreciate all your healthy recipes. Did you get most of the ingredients for this one from an organic-type store like Sprouts or Trader Joe's?

  3. Liz: I got my ingredients from a local health food store called Good Earth Natural Foods.

Not all of the ingredients in this meal were organic - it'd be ideal to have it be so. I'm still making those small and simple steps. :)

Kami: Yaaay! I'm so glad you're enjoying the blog. The contents within it are definitely a passion of mine as well.

    Thanks for your comments!
