Recipe: Wheat Kefir (or Regular) Waffles

I decided to put some leftover kefir in my waffle mixture this morning and the kids gobbled it up beyond my expectations. We topped these waffles with a simple peach syrup.

The recipe may not be exact - I basically threw the ingredients into the blender without measuring but waffles are usually pretty fool proof.

Here's the recipe:

Whole Wheat Kefir (or Regular) Waffles

2 cage-free, hormone free eggs
1 to 1 1/2 cups kefir (or raw milk)
4 Tbsp grapeseed or coconut oil or butter
3 - 4 cups sprouted flour
1 tsp baking powder
squirt of raw, organic agave
Couple dashes of salt
Dash of cinnamon
Extra raw milk
(mixture will thicken some upon standing)

Place these ingredients in your blender (the blender makes such a nice and smooth mixture). I added just enough milk to create a nice and thin (but not too thin) mixture.

(I grease my waffle maker with butter each time before pouring the batter into it.)

And make your waffles.

We spread our waffles with some butter, poured some of the peach syrup on top and enjoyed a side of berry-flax kefir. Our strawberry syrup would be good on this too!

What a wonderful breakfast!
