Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream!
I can't believe I haven't posted this recipe yet. This dessert is our absolute favorite treat thus far. It's easy to make. So delicious. Sugar free and healthy. Can we ask for anything more? I think not.
Here's the recipe:
Frozen bananas
*Peanut Butter
Raw Cacao (powdered)
Using either a Champion Juicer or a Yonanas machine, alternatley place chunks of frozen bananas, little spoonfuls of raw cacao and spoonfuls of peanut butter into the chute.
Sprinkle the ice cream with or stir in things like:
-Coconut Flakes
-Chopped Nuts
-Cacao Nibs
-Sucanat
-or other (not whopper's like the photo indicates! ) :)
The Yonanas machine is only $50 at stores like Target or Bed Bath and Beyond. It's SO worth getting if you're looking to eat healthy and eat less sugar - and have an incredible substitute to ice cream.
If you don't have a Champion Juicer or can't afford the Yonanas machine you can make this ice cream other ways:
1) Using a blender blend up those ingredients, to your taste. Freeze the mixture in ice cube trays. Once frozen, pop out the cubes into the blender, maybe adding a bit of liquid like water or coconut milk and blend up to get a smooth and creamy ice cream.
2) Place all of the ingredients in a food processor and Voila! you've got ice cream!
My kids always tell me after eating this ice cream that they love our ice cream so much better than store bought ice cream because they can actually eat a lot of it and not feel sick or have their tummies hurting. Love it!
*I like to use Adam's brand peanut butter (smooth or chunky both work) because it doesn't use any unhealthy fats (like Rapeseed Oil).
Also, sometimes I like to add little chunks of coconut oil in as I make the ice cream - just to make it a bit healthier. It doesn't affect the taste much at all.
Enjoy!
